Southwest Sports Aviation LLC Boeing 757-236 N757SS departed from Signature today at 5:45pm headed to DAL. The aircraft had ferried here on Thursday from ONT and today flew the Texas Rangers baseball team back to Dallas.

2 F/A-18C Hornets from the VMFA-314 Black Knights departed LGB at 3:26pm.

The McChord C-17a that was parked by the tower departed at 4:45pm.

Allegiant Air MD-83 N864GA arrived at AAY5291 from IFP at 6:32pm. The plane departed back to IFP at 8:28pm as AAY5292.

Monday 8-25-08

Gulfstream G550 HB-JEP arrived at 7pm and parked at Gulfstream.

Jetblue Airways E-190 N266JB departed 3 hours late because of an incident in SJC. The contract ground crew in SJC forgot to have the pilot set the brake before disconnecting the tug and towbar. As soon as the tug and towbar were disconnected from the plane, the plane rolled forward over the foot of the ground crew personnel. The flight recorder had be removed and swapped out by maintenance for review.

JetBlue Airways A320 N729JB passed through LGB tonight. This is currently the newest A320 delivered to the airline. The tail scheme is the "Mosaic" design and the name on the plane is "If You Can Read This, You're Blue Close".

Northwest Airlines Boeing 757-251 N552NW ferried in as NWA9824 from PHX at 2pm. They picked up the Minnesota Twins baseball team and departed to BFI as NWA9988 at 5:05pm.

Allegiant Air MD-83 N865GA arrived as AAY5244 from IFP at 6:50pm. The plane departed back to IFP as AAY5245 at 8:16pm.

Swift Air 737-4B7 N801TJ arrived as SWQ801 from BFI at 8pm carrying the Oakland A's baseball team. The plane parked at Signature and ferried to SMF as SWQ801 at 9:05pm.

Gulfstream G450 arrived at 3:41pm and parked at Gulfstream.

Gulfstream G550 N550MT departed from Gulfstream at 3:04pm headed to SAF.

Gulfstream G550 D-AJJK is now wearing N291GA as a test reg. The planed departed on a test flight at 4:44pm as Gulf37 and returned at 7:17pm. Before departing on the test flight, the planed taxied to the center compass rose run up area for about 10 minutes.

Gulfstream G-V N608WB departed from Gulfstream at 5:49pm headed to SJC.

Long Beach to San Francisco flights planned for fall

SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 14, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Award-winning JetBlue Airways today announces plans to launch new premium low-fare service this fall between San Francisco International Airport and its West Coast focus city in Long Beach, Calif. Boeing C-17A 07-7176 departed on its first flight today at 2:17pm. Intersting note, the right flap assembly has not been painted yet, still wearing primer.

A military Shorts 360 was parked on the Signature ramp.

At 8:40pm Gulfstream G450 N915BD was towed to the paint hangar missing the horizontal stabilizer assembly.

Allegiant Air operated in a charter tonight. MD-83 N865GA arrived as AAY5104 from IFP at 6:55pm. The plane departed back to IFP as AAY5105 at 8:03pm.

United States Coast Guard Gulfstream C-37(G550) 01 arrived at 9pm and parked at Gulfstream.

G550 N293GA returned from a test flight at 4:54pm.

1 Boeing F/A-18C and 1 F/A-18D arrived at 5:05pm and parked at Signature. They later departed at 8pm.

Gulfstream G450 N711SW arrived from LAS at 5:12pm and parked at Airflite. The plane later departed back to LAS at 6:12pm.

Boeing 707-123B N7554A is seen parked on the terminal ramp. This airplane was operating charter flight in July 1981 when it broke down at LGB and was parked here for several weeks. (Photo: John Wegg)



This Lockheed Constillation N9412H was the only Connie that Hawethorne-Nevada Airlines operated. The date and photographer for this slide are unknown.



Catalina Airlines Grumman Goose N11CS is seen parked on the north general aircraft parking area. The slide was taken May 1977 but the photographer is unknown.
